    Turbo choice.

It's new turbo time as mine is old and I want something more responsive. Bit of extra power would go down treats too.

I've been searching like mad and can't come to a definitive answer; which is better t28r / 2560r (s15 bb jobby) or the gt28rs / 2860rs (disco spud).

I'm currently running h-dev stage 2a to the letter:
    Exhaust
    Filter
    555's
    Hdev manifold
    FMIC
    Etc

In November I'm booked to be mapped on power fc so ill be adding either an rb25 or z32 maf and obviously a new turbo (will probably be going back to stock manifold as the hdev one has fallen apart) I'm after a good 300+hp pretty much equal torque and want it to spool mega quick. I only really go drifting but might do the odd track day, bit of 1/4 mile and fast road once a year (TT)

    Any other suggestions welcome.

I bet you would reap the rewards though. The Billet wheel is magnificent for response.

None of the gtx's seem to come with exhaust housings though. Is my t28 housing compatible?

You're right, none of them IIRC come with exhaust housings. As for compatability, I am not certain. Ben may know. If not, try Owen Developments.

Any GT28 (not T28) turbine housing will work.

Or do as i did and buy the tial housing and go external gate lol love the turbo love the sound but found it a tad more laggy than the 2871r

    1.4bar 401fwhp

Altho im hoping a decent set of cams will help me out a bit....

So the gtx2863r, when can i expect full boost on an otherwise standard sr? What sort of power will my above spec + said turbo give? I reckon i can stretch to it if i repair my hdev mani or use the stock cast one so should be good. I just dont want to be waiting an age for boost.

The GTX should give plenty of power if you want it but you will be reaching the limits of the engine internals if you really push it. Not to mention your 555's. Not sure what they can take but i would imagine not much more than 350bhp. Stock mani wont help your mega quick spool either

I can't see that you would be waiting for an age with that turbo, but I can't give you any numbers. I did some calcs a while ago for an SR with that turbo but my numbers were finger-in-the-air stuff at best for volumetric efficiency etc.

I don't think anyone is running one atm? Couple of people running 2867s with good feedback.

I would love to see how a 2860/63 with a twin scroll housing and matching manifold fairs on an SR. Should be a torque monster.

Tbh I didn't really want / need over 300hp but if I got about 350 that boosted quickly I'd be happy as larry.

I'm still torn on repairing my hdev manifold or using the stocker so that could go either way

Well, I've just ordered a gtx2863r from Owen developments. With the Nissan specific cover and metal bearing cages. Can't wait to see the results

Me too mate.. Won't be anything sterling power wise (stock unopened 90k sr with a stock manifold) but so long as it drives the way I want I'll be happy

Without starting a new thread now, I'm after a good manifold. Cost isn't really an issue now as I'm getting sponsored it (in a way)

Should be interesting, post your results and feedback

    Still need a MAF?
I have everything you need for a 400hp MAF setup I was running on my s14a, Z33/350z MAF, clean Apexi filter, Z32/Z33 stainless intake pipe. MAF comes with pigtail and labled crimped connectors for a painless instal.
