    Almost-a-Kouki 180SX

I'm sort of hoping this doesn't turn into a big project like my last one really but there is no telling so just in case...

I bought this a week ago to replace my M3. I had resolved over the summer to give in to the horrible level of regret I had from selling my last car and find myself a tidy 180SX with Kouki bodywork, whether it was meant to have it or not.

I was offered this in response to a wanted thread I put up and it cemented my love affair with all things S13 again.

    Enough nattering, some photos:

    Spec list:

    Engine:

    FMIC
    Walbro fuel pump
    K&N/M's air filter
    S15 turbo with braided lines
    Adjutsable FPR with gauge
    HPI manifold
    Tomei Expreme Elbow
    Japspeed downpipe
3" cat back exhuast with centre box

    Drivetrain:

    Carbonetics Blade clutch
    ACT light flywheel
    4.1 ratio diff

    Suspension:

Tein Type Flex Coilovers (6/4 Spring rates)
    Front and rear strut braces
Strengthened, polybushed and powder coated rear subframe
Poly Bushed & powdercoated rear lower arms
    Driftworks 4 arm kit
Extra lock front lower arms (also powdercoated & polybushed), brand new balljoints
    Garage-D tie rods and ends

    Wheels/Tyres/Brakes:

    5 Stud conversion
    Rota Torque drift 17x9.5 et12
R33 GTS-t brakes front and rear

    Interior:

Recaro Speed drivers seat on super low rail (black / red stitching)
Personal Neo Grinta 330mm Steering Wheel with HKB boss
Genuine Kouki Back seats, door cards and glovebox

    Exterior:

Full genuine Nissan Kouki/Type X kit
    Magic-Aero front splitter
    Kouki rear lights

I don't have any real plans at this point beyond a map at the end of the month with Jez at Horsham Developments just to optimise it for the S15 turbo and enjoy it. To that end, I'm using it every day as my only car

I spent far too much time twatting about with my last one and the best thing about these is how they drive!

I have booked a track day in it on the 5th October at Blyton Park as well. Should be fun!

May need to get slightly less daft fitting wheels on at some point as it rubs a bit even with 3 or more degrees of camber up front

    Cheers fellas

It's not a genuine Kouki in that it's a '93 model with the later OEM aero on it. The only thing that isn't OEM is the front lip, but that isn't really a biggy. Seems to be surprisingly sturdy for a fibreglass item!

That looks lovely, so simple and clean. Bet you're pleased!

Iv followed pretty much the same car path as you,
    -had a s14a.
-got a silly power rx7 which destroyed my bank account and nearly my life.
    -broke the rx7.
    -nearly bought a e46 m3.
-fell back in live with sbody's and bought a s15 spec r.

I sure do miss the rx7 tho, It's just been 21 I couldn't afford to run it as a daily. I will own another soon tho.

Love it to bits so far. One or two minor electrical gremlins (electric windows don't work, drivers side window is indecisive) but nothing too problematic. Looking forward to getting it mapped at the end of the month, should be the perfect every day car.

I don't miss my RX-7. Well, I miss how retarded it was. I don't miss the ownership experience. That car cost me far too much money in a ridiculously short space of time. I'd only have another if it had a proper engine in it as the chassis was delightful.

It's being used every day at the minute and will continue that way! Booked in for a full underseal and tidy up job mid-October followed by some winter tyres, should see it right over the colder months

Mapping carried out today - now have a Z32 AFM and manual boost controller on the car making around 0.9 bar.

I'll post the plots up later but the headline figure was ~290hp between 5800 and 6800 rpm. Not putting too much store in the numbers really. The more devastating real world numbers though...

    40 - 60 in 2nd gear is ~2s.
    50 - 70 in 3rd gear is ~3s.

It absolutely flies from 4k onwards! It'll certainly do for now

you should remove the black strip around the car, and it'll be perfect
