    oil pressure question

Just a quick question regarding oil pressure.

i took my car off the road for 6 months its an s13 ca18det, before i took it off the road my oil pressure was roughly 5bar when cold and settled around 2bar at idle.

Now my gauge only reads just over 2 bar all the time.

i have checked the grounds on sender and gauge and have changed tbe sender for a new one bit it has made no difference.

i am using 10w40 fully synth oil.

i have read about the pressure release valve on the pump and is there anyway of checking it?
The engine was rebuilt about 10k miles ago and a new pump was fitted.

No the pressure stays the same! When i got in my car last night i turned the ign on and the gauge showed 1bar without the engine running.

Its a pro stepper motor gauge.

Generally if there is a problem with the power or ground the guage will read zero or max ot possibly flick all over the place, the fact its reading incorrectly would lead me to assume the sender was sending the wrong signal to the gauge or the gauge was converting the information incorrectly.
