Just on the MB point, I can only answer why I ruled out using him. If you have several great mappers on here to choose from, and most are nice chaps who conduct themselves well and take time to answer questions and make points in a friendly and constructive way, then why on earth would you choose one who comes across as totally arrogant and can't even conduct themselves on a forum?

I would say its a very high risk. Someone booting a car on full throttle whilst looking at a laptop screen I bet the old bill take a dim view of it as well. I have been out whilst a car was being mapped and doing 3 figures down a DC whilst the driver is looking in his lap is a bit butt clenching

lol i highly doubt he would be driving AND mapping, I would consider your experience an anomaly rather than the rule.

"usual" practice is to get someone to drive and someone to map :P

this, he is a self confessed "insert rude word here" so not sure why you would want to interact with someone like that

I concur with this as that's how I've always had a car mapped...

Well Scottie ssid someone like Jez knows the roads and has experience of high powered cars and as he is doing the mapping he must be driving as well???? And there cant be many places where you can drive a high powered car flat out in the higher gears safely?

Didnt Tweeny Rob die mapping a car or was that just a rumour?

Personally I would much prefer my car was mapped in a controlled environment

When I have been out with mappers on the road some have asked me to drive, and I've never seen one map and drive, never. I have seen them log data, drive, map, etc but not at the same time.

No matter how good a rr it just does not 100% simulate the conditions on the road.

We're going off on a tangent with Tweeny Rob but I thought he was in the passenger seat when he died.

You would need a G suit so you can still focus on the screen

if you like getting told your build is shit and spoken to like a retard and having your car driven on the roads rather than dyno'd take it to MB
If you think you know better and try to tell me so, and want it to have good manners if it's your daily and drive excellently in all situations, there's only one way to achieve that. !

If it's lairy and 750hp, it's goes on the dyno no questions asked, But the drive ability is still done live, How it should be!

    Too add..

My s15 was live tuned, with a trusted friend driving. Numbers were of no interest , we knew what power it was going to make, the harmonisation of all the components was far more important than the numbers,
