I found out first hand when I was 18 in a lay by in Colchester somewhere, got out the car for a quick pee walked past a car with the interior light on to get huge grins from the couple in the car doing the dirty

Thanks cars nearly ready to start for the first time in over 3 years

Sorry this threads been a bit slow recently chaps, didn't want to bore you with electrics and connecting aeroquip fittings etc etc, having a right ball ache!

But on the plus side I have this now

nice to see a progress update, and looking nice as ever,
I went with cutting a window in the belt cover as I have a habit of putting my hand on the cover when checking for what has fallen off
or leaked out recently, I like the exposed look but want to keep my fingers attached for now

There is a safety device sticking out of the side of the steering column that can help with that, Andy

Made a start on the breathers too, had to edit this photo as it gets a bit dark and dingy in the workshop and you couldn't see the fittings

Strut braces finally out of the bubble wrap after being powder coated ages ago!

I did debate a window but I wanted to be able to get a good look at the belt

That and cutting a whole corner was easier

true indeed,I was thinking of the regular 'is that my big ends knocking/listening for expensive knocking sounds' or has my tubular manifold cracked

    Project CA, Pictures!

    Breathers done!

Tried to bleed my clutch, nothing happened. Fitted a new master and it bled fine, having a Nismo slave too really takes the weight off the pedal, doesn't even feel like I have a paddle clutch

And I finally got my hands on some non abs clocks, so I had a little swap over

    Waa laa!

Progress is a little slow, but I'm having to constantly adjust and fix things, like the cam pulley cover for example, the threads to hold the CAS were pretty much non existent so had to tap them bigger, which also meant grinding the sensor slots bigger and ordering new bolts etc etc.

    Massive win!

I have another spare, just annoying that it was on the one I'd just cut and had powder coated! But it's all good! Just means the CAS won't be going anywhere fast with M8 bolts in

All good,I like the AN fitting and braided breather pipes looks nice and tidy,
just wondering has the plenum connection still got a PCV one way valve inside it?
and your plenum earths are loose btw
must be close to cranking it over time now

Yep pcv valve is still there,

Yeah I was literally in the middle of connecting all the plugs/wires etc when I took the picture

    Very close

    Fuel lines/fuel filter
    Mount boost controller
    Wire up electric fans

    Then cranking time

    Project CA, Pictures!

So today I realised why I've had to pretty much modify loads of bits to get them to fit the car.

Forgot I've got NISMO engine mounts!

And to add extra insult to injury the engine sits that much higher I can't bolt the strut brace on, and if I space it up, it hits the bonnet, and I really don't want to put those gay bonnet raisers on it

you can fill up the stock engine mounts inside with windscreen bonding goop and make them as firm as nismo's and retain stock height
not done it myself (I'm solid Aluminum block and half a hockey puck),there was a thread on zilvia or here possibly?
iirc there is a hole already there and just fill them up, better than risers
