One step forward and two steps back....[/QUOTE]
One of the most under rated quotes in S13 ownership.
Keep it up though mate the car looks like it's coming along nicely.

Took the tank out today and done a bit more prodding, she's crispy but it's not the worst s13 I've seen!
It'll all get done
This turned up today aswell, bought it purely for the noise and now it's a dry 3 later filter I thought I'd give it a go, if it's poop then I'll put my apexi Filter back on
Well, turns out a load of cowboys have done bad rust repairs on my car in the past......
Right after much thinking whether to re-shell or repair the S13 I've decided to get the sill panels, cut everything out and repair it properly, called in reinforcements (my dad)
I could do it all myself but I'm only 23 and don't have the experience my dad has, he is also a mechanic but was an industrial welder for 8 years too and his welding is superb (he's done stuff like this before) so he is definitely the man for the job
It's not all bad though, got another delivery
Eeuww! Looks a bit crusty. Don't shout too loud about your Dad or you'll end up lending him out to most of the Essex mob
Very very crusty Jonny, just goes to show an s13 can look clean on the outside but underneath is another story.
Haha he agreed to do mine when I showed him the pictures above before the videos but this was his reply when I sent him the videos once I'd done more poking
Doh on the HKS filter. I have one sat in the garage that you could have had/borrowed or whatever to try it out.
That is cheap for a new one.
Mine is secondhand but would have cost you a big fat zero
Another slow month, was waiting for parts to get powder coated and was stripping parts down but here is where I am at now, sills still need welding but I'm building up to that
POR-15 the whole underside
Poly bushed and built up subframe and all arms
Painted the diff
And fitted the subframe up
Seeing it all go back together is really satisfying after a lot of set backs, lifted mood enough to make me joke about

lol.
Starting to look really tidy underneath now, Matt
Looking good mate, nice to see progress, soon hopefully you will be able to add the word 'Not' after 200sx on the back window!
and I'm so jealous you have 2 post ramps and that huge garage/grown up kids play pen at your use
Cheers guys
I've never heard of a non rusty s13 before I thought we just slowed the rust down and hoped for the best lol!
Yeah I am lucky work let me use the workshop in my own time, my manager is a top bloke for letting me do it, awesome job perk, helped having all the equipment especially the press when fitting the poly bushes as they were a bast**d 😁 was a bit cautious though as its a massive 75 ton one

Agreed some 13s are better than others but they all suffer somewhere imo,
mines original not been re-undersealed and never been welded to date
but it will need a bit soon,my front X member is getting bad,Ive been lucky with mine
compared to some of the work some have needed in build threads on here
Are you going to plum in the diff oil cooler as seen with the subframe back in?
Most bin it as its not really necessary in cooler climates & most are shagged anyway.
I wouldn't say everyone else. Both mine still have the diff coolers lol.
Looks like your making good progress btw.
Lots of people have diff oil coolers BUT if most people drove to a condition where they had to work they would spew diff oil all over the road.
The problem is they never get activated so they perish and crumble. Most people who take them off find they are completely knackered so bypass it and remove as the only sensible course.
They aren't needed so never get used so rot so cant be used.
Mines still fitted and I'm about to get the diff oil changed....maybe I should report back with pictures....
