Has the alternator been moved to the front using the old torque mount holes? Why is it moved?

H series motors dont have the torque mounts at either side like a B/D series honda engine it has one central where the gearbox mates to the engine.

Reason for the alternator being moved is it makes better space for running turbo, so it was either lose the PAS or the AC and as its a daily the PAS is more needed. The alternator will be mounted using the old AC pump holes.

Not updated in a while as ive been really busy but here you go .....

I work very closely with my machinist on various projects so i get the pleasure of nipping in and seeing the block during machining.

this is what has been removed

    and a teasing picture

    Thanks for looking

This looks very interesting, will follow this with interest.
This is done by many of the drag style hondas in the states etc, they seem to get the power down and achieve very good 1/4 mile times. Check out youtube - they are awesome.

Cheers snops. the engine would be a very good in a light weight civic shell and make for a serious competitor in the FWD drag championships. will have to see what next year brings.

    Well plenty has been happening

Made a alloy catch tank & turbo oil return still need to do a few bits on the catch tank once its found a home in the engine bay.

Also made the 3.5" downpipe and routed the dump tube back into the system. As screamer pipes are for people that beleave sound is speed

On the plus side of things thats the last time you will see the engine sat on the stand as its now in the car.:vtec:

More pictures tomorrow thanks for looking B)

Well as promised heres a couple of pictures fitted. Still lots missing but mark my words i will fill this bay

Incase your wondering why I havent cleaned the box, is because it would be a waste of time as first time it comes on boost it will die, but it will do for running in

    Thanks for looking

That is impressive, some awesome work skills going on there
and lol at the first time the thing boosts up the box will die,600 will destroy it (anything over 350 would tbh)
there's a video somewhere of a drag civeek breaking its gearbox as in the casing shatters and the engine nearly hits the ground
got to look for it now

Ill make you a video lol stock ATR break gearbox's they drop 5th & reverse but there is something in the pipeline for another gearbox, balls out suspension set up and some aero to try get some downforce over the front traction issues.

On a side not note this car will always look stock and retain full trim including child seats and a push chair.

Your exhaust work is excellent. What sort of RPM is that turbo going to hit boost at? Has the displacement changed from fitting the sleeves?

Thanks. The displacement is still the same, as the bore in the dartons is less than stock you have to hone to suit your pistons. The turbo "should" start boosting around 4500rpm. considering a honda is dead unitll 5200rpm it shouldnt drive much different to stock off boost.
