Only as all update. I got the jcw exhaust fitted today and have to say it sounds great, nice and quiet

    Here are some pics
Old exhaust(I think it's seen better days)

I used the old hangers to show ,e how to bend the exhaust to fit a facelift.

Then got it all fitted and asked my helper for a big thumbs up. Unfortunately you can't get everything.
    I got this....

I'm really happy with the exhausts but I have to say the fitting was a nightmare had 3 sheared bolts in the process but it was all worth it.m

Im insured on my girlfriend's Cooper, they are so much fun to drive.

Its not very fast but the handling reminds me of my old vtec Civic.

I would consider getting a Works one day

Right so the old girls had a mixed week, it threw a wobbly going into limp mode, ive cleared the codes and it now seems ok so I went about sorting some little bits.

My glovebox had a habit of dropping at every bump in the road. As its still on run flats that was pretty often ,
So I had a look and it seems the internal spring seat snaps so I padded out the latch with some stiff foam.

thats it for now, I think I need to sort some more out, I'm ordering a new bpv as I've developed a whistle as I blip the throttle.

I bet it probably costs a fraction to run and in parts than what my French shit does though LOL!

I dunno 27 mpg if your careful and keeps asking for bits though parts aren't brutally priced and the tyres are small.

Another little update here, the mini has been a bit of a bastard the last few weeks, it started with an issue with the throttle body throwing codes, I scanned the car and then replaced the throttle body. At the same time I ordered a new bpv and some works grills.

    Throttle fitted

    Bpv fitted

    20150131_161155 by darransandwich, on Flickr
It did however have a siezed adjuster so I couldn't set the shut any tighter.

After this the car was great for about 4 weeks then last monday it developed a rattle that got worse very quickly. I ordered a new chain tensioner and fitted that last night. Touch wood that will keep it happy for a while.

If not ill stick some new guides in, next up is some upgrade parts I think.

I gave the car a wash the other day only to find that someone has scuffed the rear bumper. I dont park the old girl in the best place when i go to the station for work so it was probably there.
    20150215_132545 by darransandwich, on Flickr

So i gave that a bit of a polish out and got rid of most of it.
    20150215_133133 by darransandwich, on Flickr

Oh also on a more happy update i got soem new wheels, it needs some bigger profile tyres and lowering but it makes the car feel so much better to be rid of the run flats.

Right so time for a bit of an update, the old girl has been in the wars the last few weeks, she started mixing oil and coolant. So after a bit of digging I decided to swap the headgasket.
    20150308_094233 by darransandwich, on Flickr
As you can see the oil was emulsifying in the tank pretty nastilly

I was a bit strapped for time so picked up a delivery mileage head and gasket and set about stripping it down, here is the new head.

I unfortunately didn't have a locking tool so had to improvise, zip ties and string ftw

Here is the new head on.

SO i spent a little more time on this last week, i had a bit of a mare with my dipstick snapping but managed to fit my aero grills so that cheared me up.

    20150322_162511 by darransandwich, on Flickr

I had a quick google and fashioned a grab to get it out.
    20150322_162455 by darransandwich, on Flickr

Here is the bugger out, that cheered me up as i didnt want to faff with removing the sump.

    20150322_162504 by darransandwich, on Flickr

Then i took my bumper off.
    20150322_165725 by darransandwich, on Flickr

And that was it all done.

Right time for another little update, progress has been slow as work has been mental the last few weeks. I finally managed to sit down and do some work on the old girl.
I also had a bit of a leak from my expansion bottle so got a new genuine replacement one and popped it in.
    New and old
    20150416_193100 by darransandwich, on Flickr
    Fitted
    20150416_200114 by darransandwich, on Flickr

then went about repairing and fitting my new GRS intercooler.

This had a small crack in the HAZ where the motorsport air diverter was fitted so i had that tigged up then popped the cooler in.

Right so i have had my brake light on for a few weeks now so decided it was time to sort it, i ordered up some XP*'s from Cambridge Motorsport and also got some new brembo discs fitted to the front.

im just gonna fit some stock rear pads now to tie me over then order new discs and pads when its closer to being track ready. The fronts have made a huge difference its much less scary to try and stop now.

Right so time for another update, i finally pulled my finger out and orgered a 17% pulley, that turned up in the week so i figured i should probably fit it.

    Here is the little beauty
    20150515_083715 by darransandwich, on Flickr

The fitting was really simple, its a case of wheel off, arch liner out, upper engine mount off and jack up engine. Thn you wind out the little cap in the end of the supercharger shaft and wind in the bolt that holds your engine earth in the end to leave this.
    20150523_160919 by darransandwich, on Flickr

    20150523_160934 by darransandwich, on Flickr

Then you can remove the belt and fit the pulley extractor, that popped the pulley right off and the new one dropped on no problem. Then i nipped the bolts up and swapped the belt.
    Here it is all done
    20150523_171933 by darransandwich, on Flickr

The car feels great and is definitely got a lot more power, had a great fun first blast in it but i dont hold much hope for my clutch now
