    XP8 pads Aaron?

Mega pads if so, Wont go wrong with them TBH. I rant he XP10's in mine and now on the XP8's and i honestly don't think i will use any other pad supplier now, Ill go back to a more aggressive compound when the Megane becomes more track focused.

This attending the weekender? Need some more FWD scrabble shite shopping trolleys on track

wish my mx5 was as easy to liberate a few extra ponies from! even though it's the 1.8 it always feels like you have to rag it. its a common criticism i think. what did you gain from the 17% pulley then?

Xp10's where overkill IMO for the road, Even with 300+bhp and more weight, They ruined my wheels and ate a set of discs LOL. Ill get some 10's or 12's when i use mine for track only but for now ill stick with the 8's

Hi all, i think its time for another update, last weekend i manage to get the clutch and subframe bushes swapped. It ended up being more of a marathon than a sprint when i snapped a rear controll arm bush mount trying to remove the busy
Heres a little pic of all my goodies

Heres how my dirve looks mid flow.
    IMG-20150601-WA0013 by darransandwich, on Flickr

First i had to strip the bumper, bumper bar and rad panel to gain access before removing the front subframe

This gave me plenty of room to work around the box an dpull it out.

This confirmed my leaking main seal suspicion, here it is mid clean.
    IMG-20150601-WA0017 by darransandwich, on Flickr

The rear crank main got swapped as well.

    IMG-20150601-WA0016 by darransandwich, on Flickr

Once this went in the clucth was all fittred up and the box pooped back on letting me re assemble and start to focus on the subframe. This is it all stripped,

    20150530_140949 by darransandwich, on Flickr
then re assembled with the bushes in.
    20150531_195021 by darransandwich, on Flickr

After that it was the simple job of putting the subframe back, i did however realise this is much easier with two people than one when i was fitting it on my own
Anywhoo assmebly was basically the reverse, although i fitted all the engine bay bits before re fittingthe bumped and rad panel which made life easier.

Thats it for now its all back together and feels wayyyyy better.

Time for a little update, all has been quiet for the last couple of months so i decided to pull my finger out. I had a track day at Rockingham last weekend so had my first play in the mini. I have to say on standard suspension it handled really well, just feels a little lathargic on the straights so i think ill have to try a cam and map soon. i had a great day but toast the last of my tyres so it gives me an excuse to order some 205 50 16 RSR's

Here is a little pic of the old girl on track.

Ive also ordered myself some gaz coilovers I cant wait to see how they improve things.
Ive managed to dig out a few more pics so i thought id pop them up.

Looking at those im really impressed with the lack of body roll considering this is stock setup and no braces, i really dont know if coilovers were as much of a must as i thought i guess only time will tell. That said these pics make me seriously chuffed ive ordered 205 / 50 instead of 45s.

cool project this, not read it for a while, but seems progress is good
1st pic and 3rd I can see its loaded up the outside front tyre a lot but the body roll don't seem excess at all tbh
I would hold off on getting coilys as it may just ruin the ride quality for little gain in handling
must be a fake mini forum with a certain spring shock combo that they rate highly for these
or another suspension mod to improve things handling wise, firmer arb's poly bushes etc

Be careful with RSR's on a daily, they are awesome when dry and warmed up but are sh1t in the cold and wet...and standing water outright dangerous

Tbh most of the trackday type tyres are like that, R888's, R1R's and the nankang NS2-R's i've used all behaved the same in cold, wet conditions and standing water.

Yeah I totally agree, I've ordered the coils however the ride is crashing as standard anyways :Wack: Not sure about spring and shock, I saw 400 front 450 rear. But that's fairly stiff sounds like track specks which may be a nightmare on the road. I think braces and an Arab may really help but they certainly don't roll like an s13
