It's like sending your pet away on a luxury retreat to a posh kennels
    Sounds a bit posh

Would have been perfect, that. Never mind mate - cheers anyway

It is indeed a bit posh Paul, which is why they insist you bring the car in clean. So today I've been busy.

Started off with a rinse and then Autobrite snow foam:

Rinsed, and foamed again, and then used Dodo Juice Born To Be Mild shampoo; after that I hit the Dodo Juice Clay Mit with Born Slippy to get it back down to the bare paint. Then I applied 2 layers of Super Resin Polish and finished with a coat of Dodo Juice Purple Haze wax.

Unfortunately the sun had well and truly gone down by the time I was finished, so these are the only pics you'll get

    Many reflections in the roof:

    Tomorrow's list is:
1 finish the wheels off (just found my Autoglym wheel cleaner )
2 clean the glass inside and out with Autobrite diamond brite
    3 vacuum carpets / mats
4 clean leather seats with Porsche leather cleaner
5 apply Renapur leather feed to the seats dash

Who said owning a nice car was easy.

I think the 996 shape is looking ever better with age.
    2004 - on : 1999 S14a 398bhp 378lb/ft
    2010 - on : 2007 RX8 PZ
    1998 - 2004 : 1991 S13

I agree. I know it upset the purists but it was a great design then, and is now, for me, the best of both worlds.

It's modern but not fat like the 997 onwards became.

I like the 997 as well, probably my favourite, I'd take a 996 over anything that came after 997, especially with the electric steering.

Thing is a 911 should be under 50" high and all the water cooled ones are over that.

Definitely agree, they look small now. Went to Autosports at the NEC and was surprised how wide 911s have got since. Caymans are the same.

    Car looks lovely, Arry

Having this outside doesn't really have the same impact on me lol

    911 is still in storage

The garage has been tidied up a bit since but a week or so ago still looked like this

But the kitchen has been going from this:

    To this:

Nearly done. Few more weeks I suspect. Missing my car and bikes badly TBH. Hadn't realised how much they keep me sane (ish).

    Kitchen looks great mate.

Bit of advice. If you want to take the old wax off first. Isopropyl Alcohol rinse

Minor update. Finally got the car back out of storage on Saturday - yay

Back where it belongs. In the garage, cos I never drive it

Oh apart from today, when I did drive it, up through the Maldon lanes to Tollesbury for a little walk in the country. Drove at about 7 tenths on the way there; got told off by the missus. Drove at 4 tenths all the way home; didn't get rewarded with a thank you. May as well be 8 tenths everywhere then

    It's good to be back.
