    And allowing for (reverse) depreciation.

Bet it's not $50.01 per day, or $4.52 per mile, ha, ha, ha. This from a guy that made a Honda cost $22.07 per day or $1.59 per mile.

    Bought too soon?
I've spent approx £2250 on it, and I've done ~6k in 2 and a half ish years in it. The car is probably worth what it cost me, maybe a touch more, but a lot will depend on whether the 'gearbox issue' turns into a real issue or not.

In the meantime, the BMW 330i I was looking at originally was £13k at 80k miles and now seems to be ~£8k at 90k ish. The BMW 645i's seemed to have crashed similarly.

I'm not upset with my choice - it's still a fabulous car to drive.

You'll start using it more once all this lovely sunny weather goes and the bikes get tucked up... Oh, wait...

I keep my eye on the 911 market, and it's getting ever harder to find a good manual coupe 996, I'd be very surprised if you sold it for less than you bought, prices seem to be firming more.

Yeah, it's holding up alright. There are cars here and there that go for not a lot of money but they tend to need a bit of work.

Decided I'm doing NC500 in her next year, at some point.

MOT last week, straight through but an advisory on front tyres. TBH this was a good thing as it gave me the impetus to replace all 4. It's been rolling on a minging old set of Vredestein for quite some time - the date stamps don't lie

Contisports fitted. Bit wet out there to go find limits, mind.

Haha, true story. I have to say I was somewhat reticent of not sticking good rubber on the front of the IS300 as it's got a lovely turn in, that is very reminiscent of the 911 - which is praise indeed.

However, after scrubbing in the chingchongs this morning I can report....... they're actually pretty good In fact, I'd say they're good, not very good or brilliant, but definitely good - I've had worse Kumhos / Falkens TBH. My man in the tyre shop hasn't really ever let me down, and they were his recommendation, so I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that they're not utter garbage.

Day off yesterday so I stuck 80 miles or so on the car. This was just before I headed down the valley into the woods through the real point and squirt stuff.

Despite the traffic it was a lovely drive.

Quiet boxing day roads yesterday morning so set off with Wifey and headed up to the Dengie Peninsula to hit some roads. Sketchy conditions but new tyres seemed to be coming well with them. Not bad at all.

Need little excursions like that just to get miles on the thing.

Gets really windy out there. We had to take refuge in St Peter's for a while.

Just purchased a spot in a storage facility for the 911 whilst we have some work done on the house (garage needs to be clear as will probably have to let builders enter via the back door. ).

Catalogued and photographed on entry, dehumidified secure facility, regularly exercised around the yard, parked on carpet, drip trays, battery tenders, car covers, the lot.

It's like sending your pet away on a luxury retreat to a posh kennels

That must be costing a few pennies.

You could have used my garage in Chelmsford.

Not as posh but would have been free of charge

Doh indeed! Thanks for the offer Ben, that's really kind of you, but yeah I've paid now so. Cheers anyway

It isn't actually hellish expensive. I thought it would be, but it's not so bad. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't want the bill if it were to be going on many more months than it is, but short term it was pretty reasonable

Ah no worries, garage is empty and has proper industrial steel roller shutters so pretty secure.
