    alright guys,

im booked and sorted for this but i was wondering what everyone was doing regarding insurance? who you go to for a track day.... i am going to japfest 2 on the 16th at rockingham and i would like to get a bit of track time in for a bit of experience. But so far i've had two quotes; one at £70 and one at £85!! seems a bit excessive to me.... can anyone shine some light? personally i think a reg plate of 't200 cya' doesnt help my case but yea.. haha

I paid ~£100 last year for insurance on Snetterton. You've got to remember you're paying for cover to drive flat out, with other people around you doing the same.
Statistics say you're likely to crash

I suppose... £70 for 18 mins track time at japfest seems a bit steep though... For the weekender obviously it's expected as we'll have ages on the track.... Just thought for 18 mins it seems steep

I see where you're coming from but it's just a daily rate, you can't buy it by the minute/hour. At least at the weekender you'll be getting your money's worth if you're coming on track

Remind me not to be on track when you are. Dont drive like a dick and know the limits of yourself and your car and you wont crash.
I'm NOT the Chairman anymore, Ken was. He still likes poo though. Its not Jim either now. Ooh ooh, its now Doc!

Awesome news! Fancy a go in an mx5 on track? Not sure what the deal is with the rules on it... but we must be able to sort something!

I think he didn't come across well... or you got the wrong end of the stick - he's a good person to be on track with for sure, just making the point you cant be sure of others. Less of an issue on the weekender one would hope, but a normal open pit lane day yku can get unlucky on with some drivers out there - and when you have a car worth more than £1 you're better safe than sorry financially if the worst happens :-)

I'm unlikely to be driving anything trackable in August, but I'm paid up for the camping, food, and the craic

    It'll have 4 wheels won't it?

Deacon doesn't drive anything 'trackable' but that's never stopped him
