The 'My Cars Not Moved Since The Last Weekender' Thread

Exactly 4 months today we shall all be back at work with groggy heads and good memories after the 2015 SXOC Weekender, and there appears to be quite a few posts in the Venue thread about 'my car hasn't moved'.

What do you need to get sorted in the next 4 months ready to attack Rockingham Raceway ??

    I'll start:
    MOT
    Tax
    Insurance
    New fuel pump
    New spark plugs
    Hopefully fit GEO Masters !!

Still not running right after my aborted attempt to come to Snetterton last year and havent touched it since. Main plan, get it running ASAP then worry about fitting fancy bits.

So, what ya gotta do ??? GO !!!

    • MOT
    • Passenger sill/floorplan to weld
    • Investigate occasional smokey turbo/engine
    • Re-paint both sides to make neat after welding.
    • Clear indications on the front.
    • Stage 1a ECU
    • Change brake pads
    • Full fluid service
    • Fit rocket bunny rear spoiler

That's about it for now.. Cant wait to get out on track!

Cars been sat on the old dears drive since December 2014.

Hopefully it's just a case of charging the battery and starting the thing.

If funds allow maybe some coilies and arb's but we'll see

    Braided brake lines
    Discs and pads all round
Then give it a shakedown on track in June

You got her a new car just 3 weeks ago!!

I have to put some new (better) brake pads in.
If I'm being fussy, replace the rocker cover gasket
    Give it a clean
Find some crappy track wheels and tyres.

Almost certainly pads, and you'll need to change the fluid by now anyway as well.

The 180s' pads needed over 200 miles of road driving to start feeling normal again after the cold, wet day I had at Cadwell a month or so back.

I need a new pair of front calipers as mine simply aren't trust worthy anymore (Corrosion inside the pistons/cylinders) and some new tires - that's it I think..

Got some new fluid already, had it for last year but we couldnt get the nipples undone to bleed properly. Main aim is get an MOT on it then get these bits sorted. If I sit around procrastinating and sorting little jobs ready for the MOT when its 'done' it will be the end of September.
Recomendations on pads?? Currently running Yellow Stuff in Wilwood calipers/330mm Brembo discs front with Z32calipers/brembo discs/standard pads rear. Tempted to get same again as TBH I havent had an issue with them until they went off at the end of Anglesea (it was fecking hot that day)

Mines still broken from the last weekender, water leak is fixed now though and once i have the correct o rings it should be running.

Then I need MOT, brake pads, sills welding, and get the wheels, suspension, wings, overfenders and bodykit fitted.

Can't see that happening now I've applied for a mortgage

I was running Yellow stuffs at Cadwell as I couldn't get anything that I would normally run - it was 5 degree temps by the end of the day and they still turned to glass

Mintex, Pagid, (even Ferrodo if you have groved discs) are all far better. Plenty of regular trackday types swear by the likes of Carbon Lorraine.
Personally I normally run Porterfield RS4s, they do glaze a little when cooling after a run in extreme temps or after Uber abuse, but always clean up fairly fast with just a few hard stops once cold again, or just gentle(ish) progressive braking while still warm.
Thay have have never faded on me.
That's running on Std S14 disks and calipers too
