The E46 arches look great. I always wanted to go that route after seeing them on ex-ctr's build.

    Thanks guys

We got the driver's side arch tacked on last night and matey will hopefully weld it up while I'm away for a long weekend! Next week I'll get them sealed at the back and painted with POR15 rust prevention and chassis coat.

Cheers and good luck withbthe rest of the build.
Cheers pal. The splitter was on the bumper when I bought it from a guy in London years ago and never used it. I'm still in two minds whether to keep it or not since it's pretty heavy from all the filler! The mouth of the bumper has been chopped out wider and taller to match the splitter so I don't think it's for an S14a, maybe an R32 or R33 originally. Not sure. I'll repair it and paint it anyway then maybe sell it if I can find a fibreglass bumper I like.

Was away for a long weekend last week so was back in the garage today to do a bit more filler on the bootlid and bonnet. Simon has welded up the driver's side arch and mocked up one of the front arches. I've trial-fitted the FRP doors and they're a pretty good fit against the wings and rear quarters. Trial fitted the Rocketbunny spoiler too and it's a good fit. I adjusted the rear coilovers right down to see where the wheels sit in the arches under load and they're fine, no catching

Next week I'm hoping to get the bonnet and bootlid in primer, and start smoothing in the wheel arches. Think I'll take a week off work next month when it's time for paint!

Latest progress! Due to work and weekends away etc I'm still not getting much time to work on the car, so bodywork is taking what seems like an eternity. The rears are basically the right shape now and I've put a coat of roller primer on as a guide coat, so hopefully next weekend they should be ready for proper primer. Same treatment on the bonnet and bootlid.

After hours and hours and hours of filling, priming and sanding the rear quarters are now ready for paint! I know they just look the same as they did in pictures but they're now the right shape. They had 4 coats of roller primer (half a litre of high-build each time) then a litre of high-build through the spray gun, and half a litre through the gun last night which will now get flatted with 400 on the DA then hopefully get painted later today. Will get the same treatment as the roof - wait about a week, flat down the lacquer then lacquer it again with a heavy coat so that any sinkage can be flatted out later. The joys of not having an oven.

Thanks for the kind words gents. It'll get flatted down tomorrow and another coat of lacquer, then I can remove the masking and make a start on putting it back together again. Hopefully this weekend I'll have time to clear out all the shite that's inside it just now and fit the carpet and interior stuff.
