dakota digital sgi -5 speed convertor

    Hi lads,
My abs sensor is broken on my s15 diff so the speedo isn't working..
I've found a replacement from rhdjapan for £90 delivered.

The problem I have is I'm running a 4.3 ratio skyline diff, so the speedo is miles out. The dakota speed convertor is only £75 delivered and will correct the speedo.

My question is has anyone ever fitted one? How hard is it? I'm not the best with electrics. Any help would be greatlyappreciated.
    Cheers kev

I've used one to correct a Z32 gearbox signal on an S14. I wrote a guide on here, it'll be in my gearbox conversion thread It's now that hard to do from memory I'm actually running a 4.1 diff on my S15 and the speedo is pretty accurate, about 3%, without any convertor

Cheers buddy, the abs sensor is broke so either need to buy a new one or get the dakota. I just thought seeing as the stock speedo is out I would get a dakota if it wasn't too bad to fit. I'll see if I can find your thread cheers

You're going to need an ABS sensor anyway?

I've read you can run it off the abs sensor on the hub. So means I wouldn't need to get another diff abs sensor

There isn't a sensor on the rear hubs, it's only a 3 channel system, that's why the sensor is on the diff. Without a working sensor(same as s14 fwiw), your braking system is defective.

there are sensors on the front wheels. you would wire it to one of those.

I thought there was abs sensors on the front hubs. I've got rid of the abs on my car. Still kept the abs ecu though so my speedo worked. I'm picking up a complete s15 breaker Saturday so either robbing the diff casing out of that or buying a new abs sensor or dakota. I'll see how it goes.
