    Parky's Skyline 350GT

So I sold the S15 a while back... this one, you may or may not remember it.

And replaced it with a 2003 Skyline 350GT, or RHD version of the US Infinti G35.

It's a semi-auto, tiptronic or whatever you call it 3.5 V6, same as a 350Z, but 9" longer, 2 extra seats in the back and a different shell.

It's vinyl wrapped white, standard boring silver colour underneath.

Running pretty much stock power, except for an inlet manifild plenum spacer that the VQ engines need to breathe easier at the front, an Apexi panel filter, and an poverty spec cat back dual exhaust.

It's got flappy paddle shifters, aftermarket splitter and carbon fibre grille, lowered on BC coilovers..

I bought it like this, looking a bit sorry for itself in the engine bay:

Since owning it that shabby looking bay has been cleaned up, because I'm anal and nobody likes a bay full of leaves and dead spiders.

I had a few bay panels and interior parts painted white to match the exterior.

It's also had fitted an Injen air intake, Invidia dual exhaust upgrade all the way through, and 350Z brembo calipers and disks all round.

I decided I wanted to change the wheels, so bought some R35 GT-R wheels.

Then I wanted a colour change, so spent 4 days stripping off the old vinyl, a job I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, and then two 12 hour days re-wrapping it in a dark copper colour that sometimes looks chocolate and sometimes purple depending on the lighting. It's dark copper thouh, not brown.

Not so long after that happened I decided I wasn't keen on the GT-R wheels so much any more, so sold them, put the original wheels back on and then put another order in with JDMDistro for a set of 19" Leon Hardiritt Ordens.

and the new wheels, with a test fit. The front's I couldn't fit without spacers which I've lent to a mate. They're going off to Wheel Power in Devon for a full refurb in original colours, plus gold hardware and the inner barrels are going black.

Camber arms are ordered and a bit more low should see it looking sweet.

Lowered it another inch or so, ride quality seems the same which is ace. Got pics back on the wheel rebuild, looking spanking. Inner barrels have been done gloss black.

    Love the new wrap colour.

How is it to drive? Any good? Nearly bought one years ago but didn't come to a deal with the, umm, dealer

Apparently pics don't do them justice Chris, getting them done at wheel power in Torquay.

Arry yeah it's a beaut, good power curve and lots of torque, very comfortable too. It's not as nimble as my s15 was but it's much bigger and heavier, doesn't mean it can't take corners though.

    Thanks benny.

Not sure how it'll work with the body colour, wait and see I guess.

    2 down 2 to go.

Can't be scene, no massive stickers on the windscreen. Close enough though.

Looks great, really like that! Good work on it

You only need two tools in life - wd-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the wd-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

And if you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem!

    Thanks bud.

Ghost I love it, pros are it's a comfortable ride that isn't too loud, well kitted out inside and good low and mid range torque, parts are widely available due to it sharing so much with the 350z.
Cons are its a big engine and a bit of a pain to work on, could do with a 6th gear and the front seats are electric and take a while to move forward, and it's pretty expensive to get small power gains.
Going from the s15 with 360 ponies to this with 270 felt like a step back a bit but there's no lag to think about.

Yeah I think it may be my next project in a couple of years once im bored of the rx8 there was a cheap one for sale with bottom end gone but wrong time I think I might go down the rb or 1jz route with the 350z manual box.

did you do the wrap yourself?
