Diesel issues
well I'm having some issues with a small diesel engine, (less than a year old) its fitted to a Polaris Ranger but its a Kohler 3 cylinder engine.
the machine will not switch off, turn the ignition off and it runs on at idle, it won't rev any higher for example if you open the throttle it just coughs. but leave the throttle closed and it idles on for a bit possibly 5 mins then cuts out. the fuel injectors are internal, running off a cam I've checked them for leaks (although unlikely to have issues with all 3) and they seen to be fine.
its running on fuel from somewhere the solenoid is working as it should but there is still the fuel inside the lines and rail, but this is always the case and doesn't affect any other machines. Im far from experienced with diesels so just looking for suggestions.
cheers

So if the solenoid is shutting off the fuel if it running on oil?

well either that ghost or its only running on the fuel thats left in the fuel rail and line, its a bit of a odd one as it doest actually have a pump, the injector is pressurised off a cam and thats what injects the diesel. we initially thought that it was running on oil but is was holding a steady idle for a while not "running away" as such. looking at the technical manual last night, the injector has a non return valve on top of it, which is meant to stop the diesel straight away, ill get a look tomorrow.

Got this sorted out today, a one way valve on top of an injector had gotten stuck open allowing it to run on the fuel left in the rail.
