Rx8 flat in mid range lacks powrr

Got a Rx8 daily at the moment and it seems to lack power in the mid revs. It's sometimes has a little cough at 4.5-5K, then it quite flat until 7K when it noticeably really kicks in with power

    Any pay know anything?

I would say coilpacks or fowled plugs to start with or one of the inlet valves may be sticking. Cant remember the names now. Does it start hot etc ok and has the compression been checked?

I've not done compression test, but it starts fine Hart or cold. When I bought it one of the plug leads wasn't connected properly. I'll put the plugs and see what they are like

What fuel do you use? Mine ran better on 95 strangely. Also have you done an ecu reset so it can learn fueling again.

Does that actually work? I've done the brake pedal pump before but never had to reset the clock or dsc etc

I think it's the ssv. I can move if freely by hand but it's not returning fully. The last couple of mm where it contacts a switch of some sort needs help. Looks like a strip down, clean and lube up of mechanism required.

Is it on the stock HT leads? IIRC they are known to be sh*t and most owners upgrade to Magnecor or similar asap. Do the plugs at the same time too.

It's aftermarket silicone leads. New coils. Didn't change the plugs tho
