Yes.
Personally I'd keep the VVT. I don't buy this stuff about stiff valve springs killing it prematurely.

I got a new Nissan VCT, and it's only lasted about 8k miles over 5 years, and that is using Silkolene Pro every year as well.
What else could cause it to go so quickly again?
If I thought I'd get 3 years and 9k out of the new VCT then it's a no brainer to do it, just not sure I will even get that long out of it

Mine has began to get worse slowly over the past 3 years or so but then it was noisy when we fitted it, it wasn't new at the time so not to bothered and I've got a good one to go on sat here which should fix it all being well

There was a crowd on ebay selling condensors. If not David Reid on here used to supply them maybe worth dropping him a pm
There's a revised version:

FRSport have 2 listed, I don't know what the difference is (apart from the price!):

I think the solenoid is working as if you select first, let the clutch up slightly and take revs past 1100 the noise stops.
I'll probably just get a new VTC, £238 from FR Sport and the solenoid for what it costs and see how long they last, before i start changing valve springs again or remove vtc

Also, how do you fit the rears :

Does this allow you to remove all the rusty metal around the arch edges etc?

from what ive seen most guys who try to run decent power and vvt chew through vvt sprockets.
the easy way to remove VVt is to fit a pulley off a non vvt engine(so a straight cam cover engine with no bulge).
frp wings tend to be a bit **** fitment wise, OK on a track car but it sounds like you have a nice fast road going car.
if enough people wanted FRP standard ones you could approach someone like magic aero (from over Manchester way) to see if he would create a batch. but tbh frp panels are a bit of a pain/bain.
those quarters are 50mm wider than standard so will bulge out where your wheel arch is. people fit them to allow them to run mega wide wheels (or spacers!!) this allows you to 'tub'* your arches for extra clearance. they tend to be a rivet over the top of your existing panels leaving a noticeable edge and big rivets. you can bond them on and use countersunk rivets/blend them in but they always end up cracking in the end.
*tub= cut your old arches away.
how bad are your rear arches? are they just standard arches with no massive flares etc..?
yes standard arches all round with no flare or rolling etc
want to keep oem look as much as possible as I like it

in that case stay away from FRP stuff.
