Afternoon all

Never really followed the for sale sections for engine stuff
What sort of prive do you think i could ask for my forged sr20 ?? Norris Designs built in 2005 and covered about 45k since. Has started smoking when warming up but due to lack of use recently friends reckon could be valve stem seals or maybe turbo seals.. As such, perfect engine for someone to refresh and fit. Would come with full inlet side, ex mani, turbo (probably scrap as 161k) piping tol and including AFM and probably front mount cooler kit.

Got a rough idea in my head but want to hear others opinions first.

Also rb25 gearbox with SR20 conversion plate ?? What do people think

Sr20 box isn't that strong so if you're going for 350bhp plus I'd want an rb box.

Not sure on price for the sr but if it's smoking it'll be lower. Might be worth a comp test perhaps?

i would give £500 for the engine as its unknown and you are fairly local.

RB boxes are like £500. you can get conversion plates new off ebay for like £100 but they dont seem as decent as the ones made by polo.

£500 is a pretty decent offer considering it's smoking due to unknown reasons.

If you could prove the turbo was shot you could ask more, but if you're already stripping the car it's unlikely you'll want to put it all back together and start throwing new turbo's and shit at it.

Turbo is most likely culprit as its the original. 21 years old and 161k !!!Not a bad effort i guess. Will look for a good second hand one i think and try it. Needs to come off anyway as the gasket has gone.
Body needs a few bits for MOT anyway so best crack on. Wont be making the weekender in it
Gearbox will be as the full package with plate and prop for ABS diff and clutch/flywheel would be offered with either engine or box

I need to have a VERY hard think about this then !!! Very tempting

Just started car, slight VVT rattle on start. Smokes lighlty and gets heavier as it warms up. Dies off a bit when being driven.
