Mark, I wasn't saying he couldn't go out of his way to do offroading. I was saying it wasn't going to be part of his natural commute.

Barely get time to ride my KTM, or drive my 911, so having another motor based activity is unlikely to succeed

    Sorted.

It's an estate, it's full of leather, it's got a big engine and a slushomaticometerbox. And it was absolutely bargainous.

The Lexus indeed. Practically stole it off him.

Needs a couple of bits but it's solid enough - engine and box are spot on, quiet and smooth and the interior is in good nick.

I made him a very cheeky offer. He accepted as he just needed it gone.

Nice, although the materials are not as "premium" as euro lux barges, the way they are put together is far more impressive

It also has the added benefit of being like a jet fighter in terms of performance compared to the Volvo. Although so do snails, to be fair.

Pick it up tomorrow night. I have to say I haven't been the most thorough in my examination of it so if this goes tits up I'll only have myself to blame.

I have a good feeling about it though. It drives really well.

Got home in it and what can I say?

Well first off it's a genuine 140mph car

Second off, I can't believe how much car this is for the money. By the time I calculate the full tank of gas and the change he's left in it off the purchase price, it stands me in about 800 quid

Heated power (and I believe memory) leather seats, cruise control, climate control, power sunroof, auto dimming mirrors, folding wingmirrors, paddle shifts, HIDs, the lot and so far everything seems to work!

It's pretty fast, especially in sport mode. It handles like a dart, the front end is so good for the type of car. It's comfortable, quiet, smooth and generally a really nice drive.

Has a clump on the rear quarter bumper, a key scratch down the rear passenger door and a slight crease in the front wing that's barely noticeable, and some bubbles appearing on the bottom of the tailgate. That's it - not a clean car but it's practically mint compared to the Volvo.

    Well pleased.

Lol does a bit doesn't it.

It's sportier than that though. Feels nimble - surprisingly so.

I'll go through it properly over the weekend but at the moment, seems like a right bargain.

Minor update - it's been faultless, pretty much.

Taking it tomorrow to stick a couple of new front tyres on, as the leading edges are a bit iffy. I've opted for some cracking tyres - the Jinju YU range - as in Y U NO BUY DECENT TYRES?!

Answer, because they're cheep, like the budgie. And so am I
