That's only really because of the hugely unpopular engine development rules I reckon. From a standing start after years out they got pretty close (in relative terms) with a bit of a punt. If they were allowed to go shit out with tokens they'd have made a lot more inroads. I don't think McLaren were the right test bed team for Honda but I can see that reaping rewards without too much time passing. It's not like Renault have done anything special at all and are still supplying a top team.
Its near impossible to come back into a sport like F1 and be up there from the off, its hard enough when you are up to speed let alone playing catch up. Williams will drop back further this year I reckon so its Mclarens chance to get into the top 4. They need to be ahead of all the customer teams at least this year IMO.

Was expecting bigger side pod opening in all honesty.
An improvement aesthetically over the last couple of years. Hopefully wider tyres and wings means more opportunity for overtaking as I'm hoping less euro loss when following the car in front. Could always try bump-drafting I s'pose
I think RB are going to be on it this year. Maybe even run away with it.

I hope not, 1 team dominance is boring. A few years back now there was still 5 in the running for the championship with a race or two to go, Vettel won it in the end, that was good watching.

Those raked rear wings make them look like the sort of racing car a 10 year old would draw - little changes have made such a difference to the look of these!
(Yes I know they're not that little changes in terms of the recent rule changes, but still, it's not like they're given them a totally free choice)
