Ah fair enough, the guy who skimmed it never mentioned anything about how much was taken off etc.

I lost count of how many times I checked the belt haha. I had spanners holding both cams exactly in place when I put the belt on. There's pics of my belt previously in this thread, if you wanna check? Could have possibly been counting wrong haha.

It seems to be running sweet now, just that the CAS has to be turned clockwise to hit 15°

Just did a 4 hour round trip in the car, it seemed fine for the first hour or so, then it started to break up under low Throttle, but if I gave it more throttle it was fine. Pulled over and checked my timing quickly. It was waaay out. Had to turn the CAS fully the opposite way to get 15°. What is going on with this thing?! 😭

For timing to move that much something is loose or belt has now jumped a tooth.

It's done this before though, I checked the belt after it changed like this, and it was still in the correct position. What could be loose?

Possibly the same as this. I've not seen this failure mode before so it's not on the big list of things that prevent the engine being timed correctly or that cause wandering timing.

I'm not sure it's a simple overload fracture or fatigue. Most certainly due to being run miss-aligned at some time. But dirt on fracture surface and bright edge on first photo suggests fatigue.

That's bad, not mine though,I've tried 3 cas, all with good teeth and worked but now all over to left..checked cam belt spot on, even gave wife lesson on fitting now please count teeth between crank and exhaust. Then exhaust to inlet all correct.
