I use a piece of pipework insulation in the garage at home (e.g. http://www.screwfix.com/p/economy-pi...3mm-x-1m/72357) it won't look great but is cheap as chips, flexible and can be screw fixed or glued to anything...

Might mate has given me a great idea! Put some fat beads of silicone (in colour of choice) along the wall. Cheap as chips and should look good too

What's not to like. Use some decent exterior adhesive and job done. Or if you want a mechanical fixing use screws and washers but counter bore them in a mm or two so they sit under flush.

Or maybe just stick with the expanding foam option... plus if you have any left over you can fill your car doors and make some extra light kudos points, the trapped gas bubbles make stuff lighter. Fact.
buy some sheets of kingspan job done bud will also keep your house nice and warm
Sound-deadening foam?
