    Joey's back in a s14a :)

    Hey guys,
I'm back after a 2 year stint in a Chaser.

Although it was a lovely time. I missed my s14 so much I thought id get back in the driving seat and get skidding.

So I picked up an s14a from Matt at slide motorsport. Good guys to deal with. Recommend slide for all your Sbody needs.

    Spec:
Cat c, slight bump at the front.
    114k
    11bar compression

    No turbo play.
Factory spec apart from an air filter and apex coilovers

I got the train from Forres at 5.20am to arrive down at slide around 2oclock.

I got home around 11.45 after a long drive. Here she is in her standard glory

    Pics to follow

I plan to skid her so will need to get her ready. Lots of mods needed to get her reliable on the track

    Day 1

With the factory wingmount still installed and leaking like ****. I installed a front mount intercooler from slide motorsport.
I have always had ebay generic stuff tbh and the quality is always the same. However the kit I got was very good.

Core, pipes. Brackets. Boost hose, rubber to stop the battery tray from cutting the pipes. All in all a good shout.

I bypassed the standard boost solinoid for a little pick me up lol.

    The car felt 100% better

Fitted the bumper and the r33 rear wheels.
I will need a 5mm spacer up front to clear the coilovers.
    Obligatory driftworks sticker added.

I then fitted the boss and wheel.

I think the wheel is decent although the Alan key bolts they supply are like cheese I'm afraid.
I have emailed them to see if they will send me more.

Next up the rev counter issue

I followed the guide to re flux the solar but it's still glitchy.
Will add some more solder and see if I can get it to run better

Next was to replace the actuator. Nothing wrong with the standard one but Im not a fan of bleed valves etc so I'd rather a Hks actuator set to a bar. Job done. Lol

    Out with the old

Car is boosting well and can't wait to get the spacers tomorrow and get the front wheels on

    Inspiration

    Thanks lads

So I fitted a pair of 5mm slip on spacers to the front and fired on the front wheels.
Some work to do with the ride height once I move the loom out the way.
But I've always been function over style.

Had planned to fit the washer bottle today but it's ****ing snowing outside lol.

Rome wasn't built in a day and all that!

The bonnet is being painted on Wednesday night, can't wait to see it painted

Looking good Joey. Dunno if I like the gold splitter tho.

Have u replaced the fuel pump and put some colder plugs In?

I am surprised you can run 1 bar without hitting fuel cut. I never could on my standard ECU

I have a black splitter to put on. It was attached on the replacement bumper I had from stevie b. He painted it to commemorate something.
Black one will be swapped over until the colour coded one is collected.

I will need to check the ecu. Could be running an hdev chip. It didn't hit fuel cut at all. It did spike too

The car had a front mount on it before so I belive colder plugs and the fuel pump have been done.

Something to check though along with every nit and bolt check lol

Ah Cool! I like the pic of the one you aspired to so was hopeful you weren't sticking with the gold splitter Lol!

Good work bud. Keep it up

Oh and make sure you check the rear of the sills to make sure they are in good shape. And if they are in good shape shoot some dynax or any good cavity protection wax in them.

So this is how she stands until tonight .

Bonnet was painted at toole design in lochgelly on Wednesday . Glad that Neil could fit me in .
Splitter swapped over from the other bumper.

I picked up my spacers today so will get them on tonight so I can ditch the standard wheels. As well as fitting the drift button I got from driftworks

So thanks to Kieran bringing a diff up to this neck of the woods for me in old sxoc style.

I bought a diff through a friend Marc who's mate had a Cusco diff he never fitted .

That's to the knowledge of the sxoc I've found out that this is a Nismo 2way . Win !

I've ordered a spacer for the diff from rhdjapan

I've ordered gearbox mount, front and rear diff bushes from strong flex.

Exciting times I may get to go skid soon
