So I've been using the car daily after selling my 63 plate merc.

I've had an intermittent problem with my clutch where it would struggle to get in gear.

Yesterday I put my foot down quick to change from 3rd to fourth and the pedal hit the floor.

From inspection the slave rod. On the clutch fork has come all the way out and there is no tension on the fork at all.

I took it off and put it all back together and tried to bleed it.

It would keep pushing the rod out and not getting any tension on the pedal.

In conclusion, I think the fins on the clutch must be broken.

So the next question is what clutch to go for?

    Competition 6 puck
    Act 6 puck

Anything that will be capable for 500ft would be great.

This is how she got home last night

Are you sure a replacement clutch slave or master wouldn't solve the issue before you start whacking the gearbox off? I previously lost all pedal pressure and whilst neither the clutch slave or master cylinders had any obvious visible issues, I fixed the problem by changing both of them for something as measly as 35 quid for new parts with 2 years warranty.

    Hey man,

That is a new slave cylinder already. No change.

I have found out today that the cluch fork has snapped.

I also have a leaky front diff seal

    Clutch is being done tomorrow.
    So diff seal from conceptua.
Clutch fork from slide motor sport.
Competition 6 puck and xtreme lightweight flywheel from slide motor sport.

Hopefully have the car back together all working and good to go by sat.

Well a little later than expected due to the clutch master being ****ed and having to getting a used one from garage d that was also ****ed. The guy rebuilt the one I have with both of the ****ed ones to make a working one.

Got the car back and the clutch pedal is amazing.

Looking forward to putting some miles on it and getting it bed in before giving it some death

That's pretty turd luck with the master cylinders. You should of just bought a brand new one with two years warranty for like £30 mate and avoided the headache.

I was told it would be over 100 and would take ages for delivery. Where were you talking?

I just checked my old emails, I got it from buycarparts.co.uk. Paid £42,61 with next day delivery for a clutch master and clutch slave cylinder.
This was the clutch master - https://www.buycarparts.co.uk/japanparts/2162981
    And slave - https://www.buycarparts.co.uk/abs/7794517

I remember I saw contradicting things on different sites about that master being suitable for the car, however it works fine.

Edit: there's even a cheaper one now which wasn't available when I was buying before. https://www.buycarparts.co.uk/ashika/8112511

Whilst they're not OEM Nissan, I can't fault two years warranty and such a low price and instant availability.

Read somewhere that late 350Z cast iron clutch fork is an upgrade.

So after 2 days of faultless driving the 200 decided that the manifold to turbo gasket is gone.

Tbf I was on borrowed time as this looked like it was from factory. Upping the boost to a bar and not having a flexi in the downpipe.

Will be calling conseptua today for all new nissan parts.

I have needed to replace the standard oil and water lines from the turbo anyway.

I'll be using the t28 until it shits itself.

Knowing my luck I'll do all this work and it will last a week until turbo goes.

    Excuse for 2871r

So conceptua sorted me out with the gasket, locking tabs and bolts.
I had the braided lines in the car so I took time to put these on with new copper washers.

I've done this job a few times in the past so knew what I was getting into.

I spent time soaking the manifold bolts to ensure they weren't going to cause me issues.

The main issue was the downpipe bolts. Doing the job myself I couldn't get the last bolt due to being under the car I really needed someone to hold the other end to stop it spinning. In the end I got it.

Turbo is in really good nick. Checked for play and there isn't any.

Put it all back together ensuring that all washers were on and secure. I've done this before and found the oil feed was loose and leaking. I had to rip it off again.

    No issues this time.

I disconnected the cas and primed the turbo by turning the car over until the oil light goes out when it has pressure.

Connected the cas and fired up and checked for leaks. All good.

A few pics of the job

Again I couldn't get the last bolt so I decided to get the local tyre place to do it on the ramp.

Claverley I took of the front bumper so they didn't damage it. They put it in a safe place.

I left the car with them. Came back and my bumper was like this.

New start took down tyres and dropped it on the bumper. They are paying for it. But **** sake.

It works and boosts great now.

The car is booked into the paint shop on Wednesday. May get my grill done black. Will see what they charge for that.
Otherwise I may attempt it myself lol.

I bought a cheap 5 series as a daily. Just incase something like this happens again. I have another mode of transport.

It needs a few bits done.
    Wheel bearing.
    Oil change
    Cam sensor
    Wheel speed sensor lol

So will get that up to scratch next week.

Your expenditure on paint must be starting to get quite high. Sensible idea with the daily, relying on these sbodies is risky

    Not that bad lol

Since doing the turbo gaskets it's been good.

Dropped it at the paint shop.
The garage are covering the bumper repair.
The grill and boot lid is costing £100.
    Not too bad.

So back from the body shop.

    The finished article.

It works, it's reliable. I've done over 500miles since the clutch and flywheel. It's fast and I love it.

    Happy man
