    Subframe nut woes

    Hi all
I was fitting the front diff bolts and one of the internal nuts snapped off so the bolt is just spinning.
Is there anything i can do ?
Can i drill through and put a nut on top at all ?

    ^^ This
Put the studs on the back plate into position but don't tighten the nuts at all, then align the front holes using a screwdriver one side to help the bolt from the other side go in.
This is how i did it with solid bushes so should work with poly bushes

mines polybushed, you need to lay under neach with the diff on your chest and push it right up and towards the back of the car. it should sort of click into place and feel solid, then slip one bolt in the front a few turns then the other. then take a breather, back nuts on and tighten them all.

big rachet strap wrapped over the diff flange and round back of sub-frame and squeeze the diff into the frame,
poly end plate bushes should flex and get both front bolt's in,doubt it will work so well with solids

It goes in so far and then just spins and wont catch.if i take the diff out the bolt goes in no problem.are the captive nuts meant to move ?

the nuts sort of float in a holder so they can move a bit and they are quite deep as in the bolt has to go in fair bit to get to the nut threads,
if the bolt goes into the nut then spins the holder has flared out and the nut is spinning and your kind of stuffed,
I think the diff needs to be forced back on the rear back plate bushes as they are thicker/fatter and the diff is sitting forward slightly in the frame
throwing the holes out and causing the agro,

Do you get any movement if you heat the bushes a little?

Are you sure the rear bushes are sitting correctly? I didn't have much problems lining up the bolts with solid bushes...
