    Urgent help please- s13 hubs

Hi , I have googled and watched vids but it seems I have hit a wall here.
I have an s13 and was sold from the sxoc some s14 rear hubs and s14 front hubs. I have started at the front and taken all the brakes out and am now left with the hub+knuckes attached only by the lower ball joint which I cant seem to remove. just had a quick look again on google and have found another forum which suggests you also need lower s14 arms? to make it work. can someone on here please shed some more light on this as I am not a mechanic but really want to learn and do the work myself. (unless anyone local wouldn't mind offering a hand for cash :-) I have attached 2 pics. the first is where I have got to and the second is what I have to fit on it.

S14 and s13 front balljoints are different size i believe so yes youd need 14 lower arms.

Or you could fit s14 balljoints to your current arms.

    This may help mate https://www.driftworks.com/forum/thr...er-arm.103124/

S14 arms are a longer track - you need 14 joints in 13 arms.

So just to clarify you are saying that the 13 lower arm will just need an s14 ball joint put in it and then I'm good to go? Sorry for my inexperience, i did watch some youtube vids and it appears that maybe they had aftermarket hubs so had no need for the whole lower arm business

    That's the one.

Make sure you get 14 ball joints not 13. They look very similar and 13 do actually fit the 14 hubs but they're different taper, and I wouldn't risk it.

thanks for help guys, one more question though. if I am fitting the 5 stud s14 hubs then if I do decide to buy new lower arms from driftworks which ones do I need? just thinking it needs to fit the s13 body but obviously also fit to the s14 hub, so does that mean that I would still need the s14 ball joint or o i need to buy an s14 lower arm????

You don't need the 14 lower arms unless you want to lengthen the track of the car.
As above the s13 lower arms with s14 ball joints fit in the s14 hub.

S14 lower arms extend the wheel base to compensate for that you need extended steering arms.
Then to compensate for wheel poke probably vented wider wings???

Been phoning round this morning to get hold of ball joint. Nearly everyone only sells it with the arm for mega bucks, however gsf car parts have found a ball joint on their system...the size he gave me is m14x1.5 and a 22mm spanner needed. Does this sound correct amd do i need a special tool to remove the old and put in new

My red: Balljoint castle nut - that's the balljoint you need to replace S14 balljoints into your S13 arms
Green: That's the lower control arm, ie the arm in question
Blue: Anti roll bar drop link - joins the anti roll bar to the lower control arm
    Pink: Tension rods
Purple: Strut uprights (mounting for the shock)

    Does that help?

    It won't be, I'm afraid

I'd stick to one of the suppliers that know these cars, rather than generic suppliers.
