    Ca18det baffled extended dumps.

I'm looking at designing a baffled extended sump for my ca18det.

The only supplier I can find is Lewis engines in Australia who charge 475 aud plus shipping and import taxes.

If I was to make this product at a much more affordable price, would their be much interest?

The sumps will have approx a 6l capacity and baffle / surge flaps. All while sitting above the subframe to keep it protected.

Head drain, turbo drain and catch can fittings can all be added.

Price wise we would be looking in the region of £150 delivered to your door.

A fair price to pay to keep your bearings in good order.

Below is a few pictures of how the product will look.

    Thanks.

All welding will be carried out by a friend who is a coded tig welder.
And leak tested before they are sold.
The aim here is to make myself a decent sump, however if there is a market for it I feel I can supply these to a decent standard for others to benefit from.

The UK source for these was Martin B, he runs MB Automotive in Cambridge. I think he did them as a custom job though, never a group buy or similar.

I would be very interested in one at that price, don't need any fancy extra drains etc, just the standard nearside turbo oil return to sump.

Put me on your interested list and PM me for payment if you're going ahead. Only other thought, where are you getting the original sumps from to adapt ? Perhaps an idea to make this an exchange deal, ie. take the old sump in exchange for adaptation and resale on ? And saves you the purchase price of a new sump to chop up...

for all the work involved that is really cheap I think, not saying it will be bad or anything at all,
just the time it will take to finish one I think that is a bargain price,
If I wasn't deep into a sump mod project of my own I 'd be up for one tbh, my attempt is many hours of endless measuring/checking
and still not close to done
