    Welcome dude!

Thought about getting one imported? I know the pound is weak at the minute but they rarely come up for sale here.

    Cheers mate!

I have thought about it and messaged a import specialist near where I'm from in Devon a while ago. But like you say the pound is week so came to a bit much at the time... I will probably send a few more emails... did you recommend anyone to use so I can ask a couple people?

I haven't had any experience with importing but I've looked around out of interest. Could be worth asking Torque GT and JM Imports for rough quotes.

Yh man, torque are just down the road from me! I'm going to message them again and see if they can help!
Ah thanks, I'll try jm imports aswell!

I've always been a bit reluctant with importing as your never 100% going to know what it's like as your only buying off pictures (but I guess they should be rust free from Japan)

Would be nice to find one in the uk though so I can go see it ect...

You want to make sure they've got people from their own team over there who will thoroughly check over the cars before offering them up to customers. Try find some other threads on importing and get some more opinions from others as well. It's best off talking to someone who's had experience with these companies.

There is a kouki up at the minute but it's heavily modified and 'drift spec'. The body looks good and presumably underneath should be alright but you have to thoroughly check that yourself. Definitely do-able but it's up to you if you think it's worth putting the money into it or not to get it closer to oem standard.

Yh mate for sure, I know torque gt definitely have guys working for them out in Japan, and I think all there imports are good quality to be fair! Yeah, I've seen that one on eBay but not really my cup of tea.... would prefer a more standard/ un-drifted one with minimal mods, just exhaust/suspension ect..

I've been looking back through the adverts on here and there was a sliver one that ticked all the boxes... would have been ideal haha

There are rusty cars in Japan by the way, I believe it depends where exactly in Japan the car came from.

Yeah mate I guess, just thought that the odds of them not being rusty would be better if coming straight from Japan..
Any input on where you think is best? North/south Japan?

I've no idea, just search for import threads on here or ask an importer. They will get the cars from the right places anyway without you having to ask them.

    Welcome!

Avoid way up north. Any auctions from Hokkaido for example are risky.

    Cheers for the welcome messages!

Looks like I'm definitely going down the import route now! Using bhp imports who have been very helpful so far! Going to hold out for a car to come up at USS Tokyo and nagoya (two of the biggest auction houses) as they have their team working there so they would be able to inspect the car prior to bid
