Smooth Rear Bumper - Number Plate/Light Ideas

    Hi guys,

Picking up a rocket bunny kit next weekend and its got the lovely smoothed rear bumper with no plate recess. You can buy one with a recess but I think I prefer the look of the full smoothed bumper look.

Now the plate isn't such a problem, I have stick on plates on my integra and they are legal, but its the lights to make them MOT and road legal.

I have thought of the motorcycle ones you can get which have LEDs that point downwards, but it would mean drilling two holes in the bumper. I could get some colour coded bungs for shows etc but as the car will be dark purple two black bungs would show much anyway.

Any ideas other than drilling two holes in the bumper? I want the car to be legal 100% of the time.

Bottom of the NTRP FAQ says

Yes backlit letters are completely legal, please refer to case reference number 621500327530 at Cardiff and the Vale Magistrates Court, where the Magistrate ruled in favour of NTRP against Cardiff police who said backlit number plates were not legal.
Doesn't mean that the police and VOSA aren't about the spend £1m's of tax payer's money taking it to appeal in higher courts or getting the regs changed.

LED number plate bolts may be cheaper.

I fitted some of those LED bolt ones to another vehicle of mine and got an mot advisory about them not providing much light.
