    Diff identification

    Any body have any ideas on what diff this is? Was told it was a 2 way 4.1?







    The only markings on it are in the last picture has stamped on it “05 D5”

    It looks the same as one my friend was selling believe it's a 2way out of a r32 gtr .did it come from a 6 bolt half shaft set up

    Don’t know what set up it came from? I got it from someone that thought it was a 4.1 2way that came standard in a ps13 so I take it they had no clue about it and wondered if it was actually what they said it was lol

    4.1 is the ratio of the gearing (crown wheel and pinion gear), your pic has no crownwheel fitted to the diff.

    to find the ratio divide the smaller number stamped on the crown wheel by the larger number. the numbers are the tooth count.

    have you got a picture of what is inside the big round hole shown in your first image??? as to me that looks 101% like a viscous diff.

    the R32 GTR diff has a cast finish with machined smooth parts around the opening holes.
