Alternator wiring

I've just put my sr back in after the rebuild and i noticed that after i put the main live cable and the plug back on there is a small black wire with an 8mm size ring connector. I'm not 100% sure where is goes.

I'm pretty sure its for the alternator as everything else is connected.

is for the noise suppressor. (stops you getting interference through your stereo) bolt it onto the main alternator terminal.
