    Servicing a compressor

I have obtained an old compressor. Is there anything I need to do to service it? It has the compressor on the top and a tank. No idea what make or model it is

It might have oil in it that requires changing and it may have a foam filter that may need cleaning out

You will want to remove one of the bungs in the tank and drain any water out that sitting in it and check the tank isn’t badly corroded inside

what type of compressor? a direct drive or a belt driven?
but as said most have 'sight' on the side of the pump indicating the oil level draining it out and putting some clean 'compressor oil' in it would be a good shout, a litre will usually be more than enough. then clean/replace the air filter.
