    Alternator wiring, black box

Does anyone remember how the black box (audio damper iirc) is wired on the back of the alternator? Mines sat in a box on the bench and needs to go back on.

I've got exactly the same issue! Do you find that it has an effect not using it? or are you just refitting it to be safe? I haven't run my car as ive got other bits to finish, but if its going to be a problem ill refit it.

Its an fr suppressor and will prevent interference with other kit in your and other cars around you.
It connects to the output of the alternator and bolts to ground.

Cheers nick, seems I guessed right when I bolted it back on yesterday

James I’ve had my engine out so not run without it.

Do you know what it actually is? Mines a tad worse for wear so if anyone can tell me what it is I'll look into remaking it.

Not really, my understanding is it stops interference with your radio etc but I'm likely wrong

Its a supressor, you can pick them up from most atomotive spares places.
There are a few options available but you want the type that bolts to the alternaor not the type that goes inline at the back of the radio.
