Do all s14s have noisy drivelines
I’ve got an s14a with polybushed subframe and diff and I have a lot of driveline clunks but nothing seems to have lots of play in it I’ve tried new half shafts and had a different diff and the backlash is okay
I get lots of clunks when coming on and off throttle lightly and when turning but that’s exaggerated by the 2 way diff
Are they just loud but hidden by soft bushes or do I have something wrong ?
Thanks

Every upgrade comes with one free anoying sound. Oem bushes are tuned to reduce specific resonances.

If that’s how these cars are I’m fine with it but if everyone else has polly bushes and have very little driveline noise that means something is worn out

as polcastrol posted this is the down side to polys or worse solids, can't avoid it really soft mushy rubber near silent, harder poly get some noise
solids sounds like the diff is full of rocks ,I don't mind the sound/noise ,possible if the flour above the diff area was dynomatted it may lessen the noise?

My last SX was OEM bushed. This one is solid. It's unpleasant in comparison. But at least the exhaust is quiter. Haha.
Sent from something noisy and flashy in my paw using Tappytalk.
