    t28r recon

can a t28r be reconed. mine smokes after you boost it hard think its the turbo but what else could it be the car drives lovely and normal driving it runs fine. if you just boost it a wee bit it dose not smoke but if you go hard it dose on let off.

also went stage 2 recently and if i max it in every gear it starts to smoke when poohing it then worse on lift off.

if it is the turbo can it be overhauled

you end up buying the core again basically, it's not reconditioned in the traditional sense of bearings being replaced etc.

when my 2876 bit the dust, basically the compressor and turbine housings were all that were used.

    edit:

actually, thinking about it, speak to turbodynamics. if it's *just* the oil seals that need doing, iirc they can be done.

Possible rings smoking on lift off! Do a leakdown test to help diagnose.

When my t28r oil seal went it went epic'ly no little puff on lift off lol
