    Mint condition S14a

    Hello all...

I've just finished restoring my 2001 S14a and I've posted it online to take a look at. Any feedback would be really well received, and I'm always open to suggestions for further work, car meets / shows. I've also e-mailed Bauer Media to see if they fancy featuring it in one of their publications. I'm pretty new to the SX200 world, although I am a fairly experienced track day car owner and these are great around the tarmac!!

    Anyway, the link is www.200sx.me

    Thanks for checking it out.

Ditch the brick on the front and its begging for a JDM rear bumper. Red ones are the quickest though

    Oh and call it Kuddy

Is the JDM bumper the bit with the added lip at the bottom like this?. And what do you mean by the 'brick'?

Thanks for the name idea....bit original though isn't it LOL

What you posted is a kouki rear bumper, alternatively you could have Navan rear bumper

The main appeal of both is that they have a different number plate recess which doesn't have the horrible black surrounding plastic like the EU models do.

As for the brick on the front, it's the black platform that the number plate sits on. It would look like this to have it removed.

Matt you'll likely find the "brick" has worn the paint on the bumper, easy to remove and replace so worth a look

Yeah I may have to get my local paint shop guy to cut it in when I've removed it, I'll just have to see what the paint condition is like behind it. Thanks for the advice.

Wow that is stunning! If you do change your mind on the seats give me a shout what are the seats out of btw?
    Great stuff love the car

You only need two tools in life - wd-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the wd-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

And if you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem!

Thanks buddy, yeah they’re super comfortable too! I live in the South West and took the car up to the Bedford Autodrome for a track day and it was a real pleasure! Beat the hell out of my old Cobra Monaco’s in the last car! I think they came out of a clio but they’ve since been re-trimmed.

The guy I bought them from had them in a Clio Cup I think...but they are originally cloth Recaro'a which have been re-trimmed.

Yeah, I got my figures from the 'How Many Left' website. As you can see there are only about 15 on the road from 2001.

Interestingly there are more manuals overall but only 9 from 2001. Either way, all in all these things are getting rarer. I figure in another 5-10 years time they might take the same route as the old school Fords which are frankly daft money now!

Cars have become investment pieces, not sure they'll have the same nost***ia that Fords have but they'll have cult status due to how popular they've been with drifters! Time will tell I guess

That’s one of the reasons why I haven’t molested mine too much. Hopefully it’ll keep its value. As you say, time will tell. I will let it go for the right money and I’m happy to hang on until then

Thats because they stopped making them in 99 and by 2001 only the autos were left.
