    Speaker upgrades

    Hi all,
I am looking into upgrading the standard speakers to something more new and up to date in my PS, I'm not looking at deafening myself or some sort of competition set up just a subtitle standard replacement.
What speaker setups are you guys running?

    Thanks
    Ben

i used this and cut some baseplates out of 9mm mdf and installed some 6.5 component speakers

they make a massive difference over standard speakers and only cost me £30 for the wood and speakers.

If you have some free time as ^ suggests, custom adapters are worth it. I've got Ground Zero component system 5x7" with the tweeter placed on the dash.
The adapter is made out of PMMA.

Thanks for the information gents, i think your right in making an adaptor plate and fitting more of a standard sized speaker to get the most out of the system. i have 8mm PVC board at work which i can commandeer and a trip down to the trusty halfords is needed because I'm in need of a head unit as well.

    Kicker do a set of 4" x 6" coaxials - There's only 2 sets left but they're available here: https://www.rustys13.com/product/kic...oaxial-yellow/

Edit - They're far cheaper on ebay tho admittedly.

There's also these - They get good reviews. : https://www.rustys13.com/product/phoenix-gold-z46cx/

    And some more: https://www.rustys13.com/product/pioneer-ts-a4633i/

I just fitted an Alpine 2x50w rms amp to my standard Nissan speakers and they really took a hammering - They actually didn't sound too bad once I got the crossover frequency right, I was quite amazed.

So I imagine any of these would sound great compared to the standard ones.
