    hesitant non consistent power

    hi all,

I have a 91 SR20DET Redtop with around 120k miles and recently started to feel like its a little hesitant when flooring in the lower rev range.

i did a cold compression test which came out as below...

    Cy 1 - 125psi
    Cy 2 - 125psi
    Cy 3 - 126psi
    Cy 4 - 125psi

Which is the lower limit but nice and flat across results so i moved on to a cold dry leak down test which came out pretty much 60% leak across all cylinders which is bad!
i couldn't hear specifically where the leak was going but there was nothing in the coolant then i ran out of time.

has anyone come across such symptoms before i open the bloody thing up?
i haven't long got it and not even registered it yet but i just want to drive it but don't want to increase the chances of damage.

Does it like stutter as it comes onto full boost with foot flat to the floor?

Yea that would be a good way to explain it, its not really bad but i can see it getting worse.

Mine did that when I fitted a FMIC, then I changed to a walbro 255lph fuel pump and it stopped doing it!

As far as I'm aware it should be completely standard apart from a open air filter.
it still has the standard side mount IC and piping

although it did come with some trick bits like cusco coilovers and HKS CAT back exhaust so there maybe something hiding in there but i quite doubt it
