hard to start sr20det converted s13

Right guys i replaced the fuel pump and got good fuel pressure.

Car started and runs good, holds idle and revs good with turbo chatter

But was a bitch to start and only starts when the throttle is feathered on cranking. Is a standard motor thats been rebuilt using new bigend bearings, new rings, cosworth metal head gasket and hks 264 cams.

Any ideas on how to make it start easier, timing is on point as well as crank angle sensor position or so i think

The gauge sensor and the ECU sensor are usually different, so the gauge may work ok but the sensor feeding the ECU can be ****ed.

If you gauge is working then i bet you used the ca18det one for the ecu too.

Most people don't know but the single pin one for gauge is CHASSIS specific, regardless of what engine is in it.

But the ecu one is ENGINE specific so it must be matching to the ecu.

Youll be able to see if you have as the s13 one is square and the s14 is oval.

Check this and get back to us.

will do but would the sensor make difficulty starting? would the 264 cams have anything to do with it? as i said the car starts and runs but has difficulty starting unles the throttle is feathered

Yeah as it can make the car run rich on start up, as the car always assumes its 20 degrees when the ecu is turned on again.

Just checked, the ecu sensor is the one that the s14 sr20det came with also the water gauge sensor is an s14 one too.

My temp gauge works but its not accurate and pics up the signal very slowly and not properly, car was running for 30 mins and temp only just started picking up and read a quarter way up, when i knew it was hotter
