    Battery / alternator issues

    Hi guys
It's been a long time since I've had to ask a technical question so here goes.

Car had not been started in some time.
    Fired up no problem.
    Tyre looked a little flat.
I used the air compressor on cigarette with car was running.

    Car then slowly died.
    No power

Jump started and off I went.

Few mins done the road it was dead again.

Charged it for longer and it lasted a little more.

So, the car is not charging the battery.
The car will run flawlessly with jump leads or a little charge in the battery.

Are we looking at a dead battery or has my alternator just given up the ghost due to running the compressor from cigarette lighter on a low battery?

    Any fuses to check?

    Cheers

    Joey

you need to get it running then put a multimeter across the batteyto see what the alt is kicking out , should be around 14v , if so its the battery at fault , if its 12 or less then alt will be the issue.

So I think electrical parts 7.5a fuse was my issue.
Will check that it's running OK soon.
Bought a new battery too to be on the safe side.
Then time to fit my r8 coil pack conversion.

So turns out my battery is still not charging.
I bought a multimeter as mine is in storage after moving house to see what it going on.

I would imagine you have a bad alternator.
As above, check the voltage with the car running and see what it’s outputting
