    S14a rev counter not working

    Hi everyone,

Got my first 200sx s14a last week and loving it

The rev counter is not working and after researching apparently the solder dries out?
So I stripped it out, put a little new solder on the board however the board looks a bit toasted, see pic. Does this look completely fecked?

After trying the solder, put it all back together and it works a tiny tiny bit but most of the time just goes mental

Is this busted beyond repair? Or should I try adding some more new solder? Any pointers would be appreciated!

Yeah I have the same issue with my s14 and re-soldering didn't work for me either. Have you confirmed that you are actually getting a tach-o signal and ruled out it being a wiring issue and not the gauge?

Yeah it doesn't seem to be the wiring. That all looks good
It does work occasionally since I've tried resoldering it which I think has improved it but not fixed it permanently.

Get your soldering iron out again 99.9% certain it will be 1 of the pins on the back of the cluster
