I have a discovery 3, love the thing. Drives great, we throw everything in it, and returns 27-30 mpg which we are happy with.

Feels a lovely safe car, with a very good driving position.

It is expensive to run, we budget around £1200 per year on maintenance at the min, but have only had it 2 + years.

in 2 years its had off the top of my head:

Full set of general grabber AT tyres £800
    High pressure fuel pump £1200
    Gearbox Flush £300
    Glow plugs replaced £400
2 general sevices including all filters and oils etc £250
    Upper and Lower arms £700
    Wheel bearings £300

Prob more, but I am hoping it will start to slow down now and cost less and less.

Full dealer service history means pluck all, infact you are better with a full independent service history who specialize as the dealers really are shite. I use JAS landrover in Pocklington near York.

Honest advice though, get a T4/5 transporter, cool as hell and prob wont loose any value!

    That's closer to £1200 a month than a year....

Shockingly shit money pits considering the price when new, they should be made of better quality parts

Did look at those Rory but the other halfs brother had a transporter work van for years so kinda know the ins and outs as we did a lot of the general maintenance and repairs on it due to his then employer being cheapskate kuntz!

Love the way you can fold all the seats into the floor and have a van
