Top end heavy tapping/knocking

Hey all, sorry if this has been addressed before im quite new to using forums.

My SR has a loud top end knock/tapping.

Backstory: The car has been sitting since april 2023 and I have just started getting her running now. It has had fresh oil, i drained it, then put fresh oil in a second time to flush the system.

There is oil coming through the oil tubes so i DO have oil pressure all the way up to the head. I was thinking maybe the lifters need bleeding??

If it’s been sat up then it could well be lifters. I had the same after a top end rebuild, removed the lifters and rebel’s them and the noise went away. More recently my vvt sprocket failed and that sounded kind of similar too.

SOLVED:

Bled the lifters and all noise has gone away! Runs sweet
