    Headlights stuck open

Had a minor headlight issue last week (left light not working). Fixed that by frantic waggling of the light/indicator stalk on the dash Then drove 500 miles round trip to north wales and back no problems, except no left headlight full beam.

Drove 5 miles yesterday, now the pop ups are stuck open - and I now have a flat battery, as the mechanism that makes them go up/down was whirring away all night on the left side I love these random problems but need help on this one please.

I can't open the bonnet due to the lights blocking it now, so cannot charge the battery - what do I do? Am I going to have to jack the front up and close the lights somehow from underneath?

i don't understand why you can't open the bonnet because the lights are up?

could be corrosion to the wiper motor plug where it dangles down near the side light. could be the stalk. does your stalk make a buzzing sound? or do the dash lights flicker if you wiggle the end of the stalk. ive had trouble like this before and it was diagnosed as a corroded/britle front loom.

Good point, so I tried a bit harder and noticed that the black plastic trim on the left pop up had bent back enough to stop the bonnet opening AND the pop up going up and down

The stalk must have some loose connection, but displays none of those symptoms described above. Its working ok now, except I still have no passenger side high beam.
