    Are you sure you have an S14 ECU and not an S14a one - seeing as you have a 96 S14?

    In case you have an S14a ECU, I've attatched the giff that Phil Morrison and Ben Taylor did ages ago.

    headlamp lense swap or nissan cook book

    remove headlamp from car remove sidelight and grill (2 plastic clips either side next to the headlamps,remove clips and replace into grill for easy reassembly)and undo 2 bolts on front of car behind the grill and 2 nuts located behind the sidelight)remove all metal retaining clips
    remove headlamp aim motor and rubber drain pipes and all wiring
    place in oven 100 c(fan assited) for 15-20 minutes check to see when mastic becomes plyable and pull lense away from housing
    heat replacement and fit lense when glass is still hot and replace clips
    refit to car

    head unit and amp wiring

    TO REMOVE HEAD UNIT
    pull centre console vent and switch assembly (above stereo) out and pull off the plugs to switches,pull up the gearstick surround from the back of the surround (mounting clips are at the back) and lift up out of the way this doesnt come off without removing the gear knob.
    undo 5 screws, 2 top under vent surround and 2 under gearstick surround and 1 hidden behind ashtray
    pull stereo assembly out slightly to reach cig lighter power supply and light remove both connectors.
    remove head unit wiring connectors and ariel
    remove assembly from car and change head units.
    WIRING AN AMP (remove the vent and gearstick surround)
    remove switches from console(just push from underneath and dissconnect)
    2 screws at front and 2 in cubby box and take out console.
    remove rear seat bottom half
    run rca leads,remote turn on and cd changer lead and run them along the tunnel under the plate and carpet into seat area behind remaining half of seat into boot.
    POWER LEAD
    remove wheel arch liner and find bonnet release cable.remove kick panel cover for fuse box and remove sill plate.pull off side panel behind driver(you dont have to remove this but easier without lower half of seat)
    from battery along engine bay to hole in wing in front of driver through wing into wheel arch find bonnet release cable feed cable through here and into car.
    lift up carpet and feed along the length of car behind rear panel and up into boot.
    SPEAKER WIRING
    the rears are easily accessable and can be wired without any trouble after removing the parcle shelf
    the fronts can be a bugger so i will start with the easy side
    drivers side remove front door panel (1 pin at rear of door 3 screws at the bottom of the door 1 screw in the door handle and 1 in the arm rest) and remove speaker
    unclip connectors and remove speaker holder.
    take new speaker wire and feed through rubber into car and reassemble
    drivers side.
    remove sill panel,passenger kick panel,ecu and the relay assembly (3 on 1 plate) remove glovebox front cover and door panel (repeat as drivers side)
    pull off rubber cover from car side and feed speaker wire through (this can take some time to get into car so stick with it)if you look through glovebox you can just about see the wiring for the door coming through the door pillar
    feed down and along under the carpet to the boot

    special thanks to wippy s14a and 96dennis96 that have explained how to fit "t" connector.Then,fit the negative by the gauge on chassis and the positive to pressure sender(usually in package with electric gauge)

    Oil filter! grrr

    Here's a quick bit of genius with regards to removing really stiff oil filters!
    join together 2 40mm jubilee clips (or 1 that fits already) and place over the filter. do it up tight using a ring spanner, but obviously stop before you crush the filter!! when its tight place a screwdriver over the screw head of the clip, and smack with a mallet to your hearts content! which will gradually loosen the filter. keep undoing, repositioning and tightening clip, until filter is loose enough to undo by hand! awesome
