Engine decarbonising (saw it on wheeler dealers)

Did anyone else see it last night? Edd was working on the competition xk8 and he used this new engine treatment machine.

He said its really new and being rolled out, it uses two aerosol looking cans and plugs into the fuel rail. Takes an hour ish and has everything spic and span inside.

He said its about £70, and well worth it.

Anyone know about it, if it works for diesels too, and where to go for it? Google isn't much use.

How would that work? if It plugs into the fuel rail surely it would need the engine running to operate the injectors? and where does all the shit go?

    This may explain it

The stuff in the aerosol IS the fuel, it runs for an hour ish. Like an extreme fuel treatment.

It did seem to reduce they Hydrocarbon reading on their jag. I don't know, if it works I'd use it. If it can be used on a derv.

Well then. I've done some digging and found some more information. Terra clean is brand new. Yesterday ws the Uk debut on wheeler dealers. ONE company supply the units, they are called Randsad ltd, based in Cramlington Northumberland. 01670 735575. There is a trade show at event city in manchester in a couple of weeks time.

They are finding me a local outlet to perform the service for me and calling me back. It's roughly £70, depending on the individual with the unit, and works on both petrol and diesel engines. Apparently, for my 150k diesel, it will have a MASSIVE benefit. Watch this space I guess.

Potentially then, what harm could it do? I'm genuinely interested in this, It does seem to be a good thing, but if it's going to kill my car then it's probably not.

Their fuel pressure gauge only seems to go up to 4 bar

Stripping down a 100K MX5 engine, it was pretty clean inside - with modern fuels and oils and such engines don't get coked up like they used to... Not sure about diesels, but I think diesel's a lot cleaner than it used to be...

I've heard on an older engine, you don't want to decarbonise it as the carbon actually helps valves etc seal better.
